It’s officially catering season!
We are beginning a fun mini-series all about catering and everything you will need to be the best caterer you can be this year. We are starting out with the basics here, and will move on to a few specifics and fun details! We hope this series is helpful for you and your business this year, and we wish you all the best this catering season!
Chafers are arguably the most important factor for a successful catering event. These dishes are large metal containers that are connected to a heat source (more on that later). They keep your food warm, while still allowing event-goers to easily access it and serve themselves. You may lift the lid off for them, or you can use a chafer with a roll-top lid in order to keep the heat locked in and the food nice and toasty. Now, back to the heat source – you have two options. You can go with the traditional heat source that uses fuel, or you can use an electric, or induction, heat source.
So, you’ve got your food ready to go, but how will you transport your chafer so that it is protected, but still easy to take with you? We’ve got the answer for you: chafer storage boxes. These boxes are high-quality and strong enough to protect even your most beautiful, delicate chafer. (You know, the one you use for fancy weddings.) They are strong enough so that they won’t bend and flex with the weight of the chafer, and when you’re ready to lift them, just grab on to the sure-grip molded in handles. You can, of course, use these heavy-duty boxes for storage of any kind. However, we do recommend this product for the safest and easiest transportation of your large, heavy chafers. Our “Camcarriers” are a super popular choice for many caterers. They are insulated, hard-shell containers that come either as a carry-only model or on wheels! We also carry soft-shell insulated bags for transporting anything from food to chafers and more.
Once you get to the venue, you’ll need to be able to display your catered offerings in a pleasing and appealing way. Perhaps you’re catering an event at an art gallery – consider purchasing one of our modern cube riser sets. Setting up a dessert display? Use this hammered steel 3-tier display stand. We also carry the equipment for chocolate fountains, platters and serving trays, and cake stands with protective covers. The display opportunities are endless – you can go with wood, metal, or glass. Maybe even ceramic! Whatever the style you’re going for, we can provide the right display products for you and your catering team.
Planning on providing specialty beverages for your guests? Take a look at our extensive selection of beverage service supplies! Catering a breakfast buffet? We carry a variety of coffee and tea dispensers/warmers as well as tubs for individual juices or milk cartons. Catering a swanky wedding or suit-and-tie event? We’ve got champagne and wine chillers for that. We also carry punch bowls and ladles, as well as portable bars so you can set up your beverage station to your liking.
